Prolog.
Willow rolled over and groaned.
-What in the heck happened to me? I
feel like
I went 5 rounds with Buffy-,
She thought as she sat up slowly. She
opened her
eyes blinking them slowly.
She fully expected to see her stuffed
animals,
computer, dresser, and her
bedroom. Instead she saw a huge wooded
archway,
Persian rugs, velvet chairs,
a house she had never seen before. Willow
sat up
slowly, thinking. -Ok this
isn't so bad I mean… ok who am I kidding.
It's
horrible, Rosenburg. You're
in a house that you have never seenbefore;
you
have no idea where you are
or who put you here, and you're alone.- She
looked
at the couch across from her
and made a loud "eep" when she saw Angelus
lying
there unconscious. -Ok maybe
not so alone. I need a stake before he
wakes up.
Need a stake, Need a stake,
Need a stake, Need a stake, Need a stake,
Need a
stake…>
she chanted over and over again to herself. Coming up empty
handed,
and finding none of the doors
that lead out side opened, she sat down
to
think of another plan. Then
she heard it. A low growl from the vampire
as he
came to. -Oh no.- was Willow's
only thought as she got up to hide
somewhere
in the house that was as far
from the vampire as she could get.
Part 1
Angel rolled over and groaned.
Sitting up, he glanced around taking in
his
surroundings. He was in a
house he had never seen before. From what he
could
tell, there were no windows.
At least not in the room he was in. His
vampire
sense told him it was night.
He sat there trying to figure out what
happened.
He left his sense extended,
seeing if he could find anyone else in the
house.
Then he smelled her. Getting
up he crossed to the couch directly across
from
him and smelled the air. <
Yeah,> he thought to himself, < It's Willow.
But
where is she now. And where
is here?> Sitting down on the couch Willow
had
occupied at some point, Angel
began to think about everything. He
realized
that he didn't remember the
last couple of months and that the demon
seemed
more subdued. He wasn't fighting
it for control anymore. < What's going
on?
What happened? Why can't I
remem…> his thoughts were cut short
because he did
remember. " Nooooooooo!!!!!"
His scream echoed threw the house. On the
flight
of stairs that seemed to lead
to the hundredth floor of the house
Willow
stopped suddenly. <What's
going on?> Curiosity got the better of her
and she
started down the steps toward
the bottom floor. At the top of the
flight of
stairs that lead to the ground
floor she stopped again. < I can run up
and
live until he finds me, or
I can see what's going on and then die.>
Starting
down the steps she thought
< You know what they say. Curiosity killed
the
cat. Of course I never took
it in such a literal sense before.> She
gasped
slightly at what she saw when
she reentered the room she had woken up
in.
There was Angelus lying on
the couch she had woken up on. He was curled
in
the fetal position, bloody
tear tracks on running down his face.
Angelus
looked up at her and she expected
him to be "grrr" but he was in his
human
face. " Willow?" He asked
in a small voice. Looking deep into his eyes
Willow
felt she could see his soul.
< his soul? Vampires don't have souls.
Wait…>
Angel she asked in disbelief.
" Willow, I am so sorry." He told her
before
more bloody tears started
rolling down his face. Willow crossed the
room
sitting by his head she petted
his head. Angel moved his body toward
his,
placing his head on her knees.
Finally, after about 20 minutes Willow
had a
vampire asleep in her lap.
*******
Part 2
Willow stared sightlessly at
the wall across the room and tried to make
sense of their situation.
She remembered leaving the library early to
get home before sunset. A
car had pulled up alongside the sidewalk, and
a man had stepped out to ask
directions to--somewhere. The memory was
still hazy, and it was the
last thing she remembered before waking up
here, wherever here was, with
Angelus, who was no longer Angelus.
Willow looked down as Angel
stirred against her lap. Brown eyes met
green, and he pushed himself
up off her and moved to the opposite end
of the couch.
"Angel?" Willow asked.
"I'm sorry," he spoke softly.
"I'm sorry I...Oh, hell, you must hate
me."
The little redhead smiled, "I could never hate you."
"But after what I--" he moved off the couch and turned away from her.
"Angel, it doesn't matter," she told him.
"Of course it matters! Buffy, Giles, you, all of it matters!"
She went to him and laid a
hand on his arm, entreating him to look at
her.
"Then, why didn't you make it stop?" she asked.
His tortured eyes looked down
at her, "I couldn't, Willow. It wasn't
me--"
"Exactly," she nodded. "It
wasn't you. I don't hate you. Now,
Angelus--there's definitely
a hate-hate relationship there--but never
you."
He shook his head and touched
her cheek with an unsteady hand, "Do you
know how incredible you are?"
"No, but you can tell me later,"
she grinned. "First, I'd really like
to get out of here."
Angel's eyes swept the room, "Where are we?"
"I have no idea," she answered.
"But there's a stairway through that
door. Maybe it's a way out."
"It's worth a try," he agreed.
***
"No one's seen her all day?"
Giles asked.
"She never went home last night.
I called her house, and her mom said
it was nice that she spent
the night at my house! And there's something
else that's bothering me even
more," Buffy told him.
"I hesitate to ask."
"Angelus is missing, too. He
hasn't been out on the streets maiming and
torturing for two nights,"
she said.
A chill ran down the watcher's
spine, "Of course, that could just be
coincidence."
"Giles, my best friend is missing,
and Angelus is nowhere to be seen.
That can't be a coincidence,"
she argued. "We have to find Willow,
fast. I'm going to track down
Spike."
"Buffy, I don't think that's wise," Giles cautioned her.
"He may know something. I'll
rip it out of his throat if I have to, but
I am going to find Willow!"
"All right," he nodded. "But
I want you back here in two hours,
understood?"
"Two hours," she agreed.
Part 3
Angel pounded, pushed, hit,
kicked, and even tired pull the door off
its
hinges, but it wasn't moving.
" Sorry, Will. It's not budging."
Looking at Angel, Willow could tell
he was
blaming himself for this to.
"THAT'S IT," She yelled at
the startled vampire. She advanced on a very
surprised Angel. " Next time
you apologize for something you didn't"
Angels
back hit the wall and Willow
stood there hands on her overall clad
hips. "
Next time you look guilty
or I even THINK you look guilty I'm going
to…well
I'm gonna…
I am going to smack you upside your pretty little head!
DO. YOU.
Understand. Me.? She poked
him in the chest with each word of her last
sentence.
" Ok" Angel hung his head.
His first thought was < She thinks my head
is
pretty? > Shaking himself
out of it he muttered "Yes, Willow."
Remembering
her threat he lifted his head
and smiled at the small redhead who had
jus
backed him, a 243-year-old
vampire, into a corner.
"Good" Willow smiled. " Okay!
You go left; I'll go right. Let's see
what we
can find!" Angel raised this
hand in mock salute and went in his
appointed
direction.
*****
Part 4
Willow wandered around, looking
into doors and opening any drawers she
happened to see. She noticed
2 things, though. Any doors that lead to
the
outside were locked and all
the windows had been bricked up from the
outside.
Willow walked to a large kitchen.
There was what looked liked 2 huge
walk in
pantries and 2 refrigerators
about the same size. She opened one of the
pantries and was surprised
to find it fully stocked. < That can't be
good. >
She thought. She walked over
to open one of the refrigerators; it was
full of
blood bags. <Ewww. > She
thought to herself, then yelled "ANGEL!" Angel
came
running in a minute later.
" I think someone was expecting
us."
" What?" Angel asked. She
opened the door wider so he could see inside.
Willow thought she saw his
game face flicker but it happened so fast
she
couldn't really tell. He pushed
past her and shut the door to the
fridge. He
opened the other fridge out
of some sense of sick need to know. Instead
of
blood there was an assortment
of soda and other food for humans that
had to
be kept cold.
" That's a lot of food." He
told Willow.
" Oh! Coke." Angel watched
as she grabbed a red can out of the fridge,
opened
it, and took a drink.
" Yeah it is" She agreed.
" Enough for a couple of months
at least." Angel analyzed.
" Months?" Willow squeaked.
" I don't want to be here for months." She
told
him.
" What am I bad company?"
Angel looked ashamed. Willow walked over to
him.
She smiled at him tenderly
before reaching up and smacking the back of
his
head, lightly.
" Hey!" Angel steeped back
in surprise. He never thought she would hit
him.
" NO brooding!" She emphasized
the word "no".
" Ok, ok." Angel took her
hand. " Come on! Let's explore." They walked
out of
the kitchen hand in hand.
Part 5
"Giles." Buffy's voice thundered
threw the libray as the wooden door's
swung shut behind her. She
got no response. " GILES!!!!" She screamed.
She
found Giles stareing in what
appeared to be shock at the old rotary
phone in
his office.
" Giles" she snapped. His
head shot up and he appeared as if he had
just
woken up. He looked at her
in confusion for a minute before he cleared
his
throat and stood.
" Yes, Buffy, what can I do
for you?"
" What's wrong with you?"
Buffy asked suspiciously
" Not..Nothing. I …um…the
council phoned me, seems there a new
problem
coming
our way. That's all I know
right now."
" Oh well, we have more important
things to deal with at the moment.
Angelus
is not only gone, he was taken.
This Vamp I got some info from told me
that
these guys came into the mansion
during the day and took him."
" Oh dear, oh dear."
It was later that evening
and after several hours of searching the
house and
finding nothing Willow and
Angel were sitting on the couch that Willow
had
woke up on, their positions
reversed. Willow now had her head in Angel
lap as
they watched Dawson's Creek.
Angel was trying to figure out what was so
funny
as Willow laughed hysterically
at some a boy named Pacey had said. She
finally stopped laughing and
looked up at Angel. The look on his face
sent
her into fits of laughter
again.
" What?" He demanded. He got
no response. "What?" he asked again. She
kept
laughing. " You want to laugh
at me I'll give you something to laugh
about."
He muttered, then started
tickling her mercilessly.
******
part 6
"Stop," Willow gasped. "Are you going to laugh at me?" Angel asked in a
silky, dark voice. Willow,
at hearing his tone, tensed. Angel felt her
tense
up and once again assaulted
her rib cage with his fingers.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--
"Why should I care that Angelus
is missing? Why should you? I should
think
you'd be glad to be rid of
him," Spike said to Buffy.
"I don't like not knowing who
took him or where he is. And Willow's
missing,
too," she snapped.
"You think they took the little
witch, too? Maybe they want Angelus to
develop a taste for redheads."
"This isn't funny," she hissed.
"Look, do you really like the idea of
these
guys skulking around, carting
people off? Maybe they'll decide one
vampire
isn't enough. Maybe they'll
decide they need another. Maybe they'll
decide
they need _you._," she said.
"Okay, I don't like not knowing
who's taken him or why," Spike
admitted.
"So, you'll help me?" she asked.
"You'll owe me, slayer," he cautioned her. "And I'll collect."
"Fine, whatever. Help now, threaten later," she answered impatiently.
"So, the little redheads gone
too?" Spike asked conversationally. The
slayer
placed her hands on her hips.
"Look, Spike, I am so not in the mood to
listen
to you talk about how Willow
is missing." She glared at him for effect.
"Come
on, we need to get to Giles."
Buffy started for the school, never
looking
back. " Damn, but she's beautiful."
Spike muttered to himself, then ran
to
catch up with her.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--
Willow had finally managed
to escape Angel, but now he was chasing her.
She
had just run up 6 flights
of stairs and locked herself in the house's
attic.
< Smart, Will. Now you
have nowhere to go. > She thought. Willow
wandered
around the attic opening box
after box. All of them held books with the
watchers symbol on them. <
The watchers symbol? What the…? I'll have
to look
at them. > She opened another
box and squealed in joy. It was her
laptop.
Angel mistook her happy sound
for one of pain, and all the sudden the
attic
door came crashing in. Willow
jumped and whirled to face Angel, in full
game
face. After looking around
and not finding an immediate threat, Angel
charged
Willow pulling her into his
arms. Willow ran her hands up and down his
back
saying soft words. Angel pulled
back to look at her and Willow's eyes
fell
shut as Angel pressed his
lips to hers.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--
Part 7
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--
Willow pulled away from Angel
after a few seconds. She looked at him
and saw
that he was no longer vamped
out. Willow waited for him to say
something, but
all he did was look at her.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--
"Giles!" Buffy half screamed,
half shouted as she pushed open the heavy
wood
doors to the library. Spike
followed close behind her, too close for
Buffy's
comfort.
" Buffy I am not deaf. There
is no reason to be so loud." Giles told
her in
exasperation as he walked
out of the stacks his nose in a book. " Now,
what
is the matt…."
Giles stopped talking as he looked up to find his
slayer
standing in front of Spike.
" Hello, mate." Was all Spike
said.
" Would you excuse us for
a minute." Giles asked Spike in a polite tone
that
surprised all 3 of them, as
he pulled Buffy aside. Once they were in
his
office and Giles had shut
the door he turned on Buffy.
" WHAT IN THE BLOODLY HELL
IS HE DOING IN MY LIBRARY???" Giles shouted.
Buffy placed her hands on her
hips.
" Giles if you were going
to yell, why'd we come in here? Hello? He's a
vampire! He can hear every
word you say from out there!" Buffy told him
in a
quiet voice.
" Oh, yes, quite. I'm sorry
I am did not mean to explode. But what is
Spike
doing here?"
" Well……"
*****
Part 8
After several seconds of staring
at one another Willow got her bearings
and
did the only thing that occurred
to her at the moment she kissed him
again.
Angel pulled her tightly against
and only released her lips when she
needed
air. As Angel trailed kisses
down her neck, Willow wrapped her arms
around
his waist. Moving her head
to one side to give Angel access to her neck
she
noticed again what had made
her so happy that he screamed. She tried to
pull
away, but Angel held fast.
" Angel."
" Hummm" came the hummed response.
" You have to let go now."
" Nu-uh" was all she got as
he continued to kiss her neck.
"Angel let go of me right
this minute!" Angel pulled back to look at
her."
" What?" he asked in exasperation.
She pointed at her laptop. He
glanced at
it. " So, it's a laptop."
He caught on! " A LAP TOP" that means…."
" It means," She said, " that
if this house has any phone jacks I can
talk to
anyone in the world. Including
Giles."
" So that means were saved?"
he asked.
" You sound disappointed."
She observed.
" It's just that, well I was
kind of liking the idea of being stuck
alone
with you where no one can
get us." His smiled at her. " Plus things
just got
good." He smile turned to
a grin as he kissed her again.
Part 9
Willow giggled at Angel words.
Before kissing him back. After several
minutes
of Angel nibbling on her bottom
lip, Willow opened her mouth for him.
Angel
moaned outright as Willow
tongue can into contact with his own. Angel
slipped
his hands under the back of
Willows shirt. Pulling back to allow her to
breath, Angel placed small
kisses on her neck. Willow tilted her head
to the
side, allowing him access.
All the sudden Angel stepped back.
"What?" Willow asked opening
her eyes. Looking at Angel She almost
passed
out.
" YOUR GLOWING!" They said
in unison.
Buffy sat on the table in
the library, reading the book on her folded
legs.
Spike was leaning against
the check out counter, staring at her.
"I need caffeine." Buffy said
all of the sudden, closing the book on
her
legs. She didn't really but
she wanted Spike to stop looking at her.
She
could feel it and it was given
her the wiggins. "You want, Giles?"
" No, thank you though." He
responded his eyes never leaving the book
he was
reading. Buffy jumped off
the table. Landing gracefully on her feet.
She
walked out of the library,
and Spike followed her.
"Last time I checked, they
didn't put blood in vending machines." Buffy
told
Spike.
" I thought I'd walk with
you. Don't want whoever is taking people to
find
you alone, do we?" He asked.
Buffy sighed, <He's right.> "Plus," he
added " I
want some M&M's." She
laughed.
< Even her laugh is beautiful.>
Spike thought. < Well its now or
well….later.
But I don't want to wait.>
Buffy was surprised, to say the least,
when Spike grabbed her and
kissed her.
*****
Part 10
Buffy stopped short. < Spike's
kissing me. > The though went in and out
of
her head at lighting speed
as Spike's tongue swept threw her mouth and
his
arms encircled her waist.
Before she knew what she was doing, her own
arms
has wrapped around his neck,
and she kissed him back.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Willow stared in utter shock
at her hands and at Angel, both of which
were
glowing gold.
"Um…ok…we
can deal with this…this…Angel what
is this?" Willow
asked.
" One hell of a problem."
He replied.
"Gee, You think?" she answered
sarcastically.
" Hey! This isn't my fault!"
Angel retorted at hearing her tone.
Suddenly
Willow grinned, throwing herself
into Angel arms, she kissed him
soundly on
the lips. Angel responded
instantly, crushing Willow against him. He
touched
his tongue to her lips and
she open her mouth wide allowing him
entrance.
Willow felt like she was on
fire, the feelings were so intense. She
tired to
decided if breathing was actually
something she needed to do. Pulling
back to
allow her to take in much
needed air Angel asked, " What was that for?"
then
added, "Not that I mind."
Willow bounced once on the balls of her feet.
" You didn't blame yourself.
Something happened that was completely out
of
your control, and for once,
you didn't blame yourself for it. You
actually
said it wasn't your fault."
Willow grinned at him. Angel chuckled.
" So, what your saying is,
if I brood your going to smack me, like this
morning. And if I don't blame
myself, your going to kiss me like that?"
he
whispered in her before biting
the lobe lightly. Willow nodded once,
then
pulled away. Angel advanced,
trying to keep her close.
"Angel?" she called softly,
her arms going around his neck on their own
accord. " Angel we need to
find out why we were…are glowing." Angel
sighed and then placed his
head on her shoulder.
"Research?" he asked.
"Research." She agreed.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
When Spike finally pulled
away allowing the Slayer to breathe, he kept
his
arms around her waist. <
In for a penny, in for a pound. > He thought.
Buffy's hands were on his
shoulders, and she seemed to be dazed. After
a few
minutes Buffy looked up at
him.
"Wow." Was all she said, looking
him in the eyes. She expected his eyes
to be
hard, the eyes of a killer,
but instead they were soft. For the first
time
since she had meet Spike,
his smile meet those eyes.
" Yes, pet. Wow." He pulled
her closer, hugging her tightly.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Willow sat in a chair, trying
to read the book on her folded legs.
Although,
Angel was making it hard.
They had been reading threw all the books
with the
watchers symbol that they
had found in the attic, for the past six
hours.
They had found nothing. About
fifteen minutes ago, Angel had closed his
book
and was now trying to distract
Willow from hers by rubbing her shoulder
and
kissing her neck. Willow had
tired to shrug him off but he would not be
detoured. So, now she was just
trying to ignore him. Willow was
translating
the Latin as best she could.
The pages she was reading were the only
ones in
Latin in the book she had.
It seemed to be making sense, but she had an
impending feeling of dread.
As Willow translated the passage she sat
straight
up, causing Angel to fall
ungracefully on his butt.
Willow muttered one word,
"Shit."
Part 11
"OUCH!" Angel said as he picked
himself up off the floor. " Willow,
what's
wrong with you?"
" I found what we are looking
for." She muttered.
" And that would be?" he asked.
" A prophecy." " Shit" Angel muttered.
~~~~~~~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Buffy looked up at Spike and
jumped away from him.
"Ok, that did NOT just happen!"
She exclaimed as she started pacing.
"Yes, Slayer, it did." " No!"
She shouted. " It didn't! I am not ever
going
to get involved with a vampire,
again. It always ends in tears. My
tears! I
can't do this, again." Buffy
ran out of the school and Spike gave
chase.
!@!@!@!@!@!@!@!@!@!@!@!@@!@!@!@@!@!
Meanwhile: Willow paced. Angel
sat on the couch watching as she went
back and
forth, back and forth, and
back and forth.
" Will, sit down please?"
He pleaded. " You're making me sea-sick."
Willow
dropped down next to Angel.
Angel started to hug her,
but she pulled away. Angel looked hurt.
"We have to fight this." She
told him.
" Why?" he asked bluntly.
"
"Cause people will get hurt.
Buffy, Oz, and Xander will get hurt. I
can't do
that to them." She told him
as she rose from the couch and started
pacing
again. " You can fight it
if you want, Willow. But I am not going to
try. I
know it was meant to be. I
know we were meant to be."
"Ang…"
her words were cut off as she spun around to face him, only to
find
herself nose to chest with
the tall vampire. He towered over her. Then
grinning slightly, he pulled
her against him, and kissed her deeply.
******
Part 12
Willow didn't react for a second,
just stood there as Angel kissed her with
passion she hadn't know anyone
was capable of. Then Willow's brain jump
started and she tried to push
him away. Angel held fast, threading one hand
threw her hair, keeping her
head in place, and the other wrapped firmly
around her waist holding her
against him. Finally, after several long minutes
of just standing there while
he kissed her, the soft pressure of his mouth
was to much, and Willow kissed
him back.
Smiling internally to himself,
Angel thought, in a very immature action <Yay!
I win.>
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--
Spike was chasing the Slayer
threw Sunnyhell. He knew he was getting closer,
he was following her heartbeat
threw the deserted streets.
"Buffy!" He called as he ran.
She didn't answer, not that he had expected her
too. He knew she could only
run for so long before, even with her Slayer
strength, she would have to
rest. Spike realized they were nearing her house,
and he knew once she got inside
he had no way of getting to her. He ran
harder.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--
Willow had tried to fight Angel,
she really had. But it was just to much,she
returned his kiss with equal
passion. The dark haired vampire slowly backed
up till her back collided
with the nearest wall, freeing his hands. He ran
his the tips of his fingers
up and down her sides lightly, causing Willow to
squirm. Her hands seemed to
have a mind of there own as they glided over his
shoulders and back. Angel
finally pulled out of the kiss, letting Willow take
in some much need air.
Leaning his forehead against
hers he asked, "How can you say this is wrong?"
Willow shook her head, "I
can't anymore."
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--
Part 13
Angel smiled," So what if
it took some stupid watchers locking us in a house
for us to find each other.
According to the prophecy we would have anyway. I
guess, the watchers just needed
it to happen sooner then later,"
" The question," Willow pointed
out, " is why did they need us sooner rather
then later?" Angel ran a hand
threw his hair and asked,
" More research?" in a whinny
tone. Willow grinned.
" Oh, poor baby. Yes, more
research." Angel pouted. " Oh, come on, Angel. The
sooner we know stuff, the
sooner we cannot have to research anymore." Willow
pointed out. Angel smiled,
<She's so cute when she does that Willow-speak
thing.> Angel grabbed a book.
Willow thought of something.
" Angel, just because the
watchers symbol is on the books, there's no sure
way of knowing that they put
us here." Willow pointed out.
" Shit" Angel muttered.
~~!@@#$#$%%^^*&*())__(*&%#@!!~~@#$$%^^&*&
Spike finally managed to catch
up with Buffy on her front door step. She was
shaking so hard she couldn't
get her key in the door.
" Buffy" The Slayer spun around.
" Stay away from me." She
gasped between each word.
" No." Spike refused flatly.
" I'm not going to. Whatever just happened, you
felt it to. I know you did.
Buffy, I know what happened with Angel hurt you a
lot. But I am not him. I don't
have a soul, I know that. But I am not all
evil. I care about you. You
saw it when we kissed. You know the feelings are
there. But I don't have a
soul to lose. And I am not going to let you go."
Spike told her in a gentle
and honest manner she didn't know he was capable
of. Buffy made a decision
