"So, luv, what'll it be? Friday night? Saturday night? I've
got a few days open in my datebook. Actually, an eternity of
them." Spike grinned at the redhead.

"Are you serious?" Willow glanced at him doubtfully.

"Why not? We can go down to that fritzy bar the Slayer got
all time travel at."

"I don't drink."

"But I do. Besides, you don't have to."

She stared at him for a moment. "Alright. You win. How bad
could it be?"

"Hey. I'm a perfect gentlemen when I'm wooing a girl."

--- FRIDAY NIGHT, TWO HOURS INTO THE DATE

"So, then Peaches looked around and said...well, I don't quite
remember what he said, but I'm guessing it was right bloody
funny." Spike slurred, gesturing over the slew of empty shot
glasses on the table.

Willow sighed, trying to pretend she wasn't with the obnoxious
vampire.

"Spike." She hissed. "Can we go home now?"

"What?" He asked loudly. "The fun's just beginning. You want
a drink, baby?"

"For the tenth time, no. I don't want a drink. I don't want
to look like you."

Spike laughed deverisively. "No, no, no, no. Y-you don't. You
want to look like just like you, because you look goooood."

He fell into hysterics at his own clever remark.

Willow shook her head in disgust. "Come on, Spike. We're leaving.
I'll walk you back to Giles'. Then don't call me. Ever."

"Aww. That hurt." He sniffed playfully, allowing her to pull
him out of the booth.

She ignored the stares as she led Spike away. He ogled her
the whole way.

"Miss." A young college student stepped in Willow and Spike's
path. "Pardon me, but in my humble opinion, you should dump
that jerk and come over here with me. You are much too good
looking to..."

Spike interrupted his plea with a strong fist to the jaw. His
eyes glowed yellow with anger. Willow jumped.

"Spike!" She wrapped his arm around his shoulder and hurried
her out of the bar, ignoring the shocked patrons.

Once outside, Spike morphed back to his human face. He slung
himself over Willow's tiny frame, playing with a strand of
her hair between two fingers.

"I l-l-love you, Willow." He offered, snickering at his words.
"You're the wind beneath my wings." Spike flapped his arms
like a bird around her.

"Yeah." Willow breathed. "I'll believe that when you announce
it on public radio."

--- SATURDAY, TWELVE HOURS LATER

Spike held his head in pain as he stumbled into the Watcher's
kitchen. He set the microwave to two minutes, not bothered
by the spilt blood. He trudged to the couch, ignoring Xander's
stares.

"Good going."

The vampire peered at him with open eye. "What?"

"Last night. I'm glad you know how to show a lady such a good
time." Xander practically fumed.

Spike paused. "I don't remember what happened last night. Guess
I had a few."

"Really. Here's a flashback. You took Will somewhere she didn't
really want to go. Had a few drinks, told a few blood-filled
stories. Had a few more drinks, announced to the bartender
that you're a vampire. Had a couple more drinks, tried to feel
her up over the table. Guess what? More drinks and you ended
up punching a guy out and going vampy in front of the entire
bar."

Spike fell silent as he remembered the events of the night
before.

"I did?"

"Yeah. You humiliated her. Congratulations. Then said some
crap about loving her." Xander shook his head.

"How'd I get home?"

"You passed out about thirty feet from the building. Willow
dragged your sorry corpse all the way here, undressed you,
which probably would have caused me to vomit all over myself,
and put you to bed. She even warmed blood and fed it to you.
Then she went home to cry herself to sleep for being so stupid
to go out with someone like you. She feels awful."

"Loving her? I said that?"

"Yeah. Who cares?"

He looked down. "I think it's true."

--- SATURDAY, SAME TIME

"I hate him. I can't believe what he did to me. He humiliated
me then passed out." Willow shook off her angry tears.

"So, you saw him naked?" Buffy questined.

"Buffy. One track." She sighed, curling up under the covers.
"I just want to stay in bed forever."

The Slayer shook her head. "I've gotta go. Class. I will return
with ice cream."

Willow forced a smile. "Kay." She flipped on the radio and
buried herself under the covers.

--- SATURDAY, HALF AN HOUR LATER

"And next we have eight in a row with no ta..." Thud.

"Willow?" The voice came through the radio.

Her head jolted from beneath the covers.

"Willow?"

"Spike? She asked aloud.

"It's Spike. I-I don't know how to say it, but I'm sorry about
what I put you through. I didn't want to hurt you. There's
no way for me to make it up to you, except, except with a song."

Willow couldn't help but laugh as he began to sing horribly
offkey.

"Did you ever know that you're my hero, and everything I would
like to be? I can fly higher than an eagle, for you are the
wind beneath my wings."
