“Spike, there’s no reason
to be-.....Spike?” Willow got no response from the
blonde vampire as had been
the usual for the past two days. Slightly
depressed, she wandered towards
the kitchen located at Gile’s place. She
opened the fridge door and
stared inside. She raised her eyebrows, sheesh!
Did they eat here or not?<
Or maybe Xander’s been over and cleaned the place
out.> Sighing, she snatched
a bottle of strawberry soda. Taking a sip, her
mouth twisted at the sweet
taste.
Feeling down, she mused on
how to get Spike to talk to her again. She didn’t
like to admit it but she missed
their little conversations. With an even
more depressed ‘hmph’, she
wandered out of the kitchen and plonked herself
down in front of the
television. Willow glanced at her watch. If Spike
wasn’t careful, he’d miss
his beloved-I-can’t-live-without program,
‘Passions’.
As if reading her mind, the
vampire reappeared in the doorway and planted
himself next to Willow in
another chair. Doing a spectacular job at
pretending she wasn’t
there. As if he couldn’t see her. Like she was thin
air. Willow slumped even further
in her seat. Dejectedly, she stared at the
television. As she watched
the stupid, STUPID show! She got a sudden burst
of energy and jumped from
her chair, grabbed her backpack and was about to
leave. Two could play the
stupid, despicable idiot’s game. Then she
remembered she shouldn’t just
leave the idiot alone and walked towards the
phone. Grabbing the handpiece,
she punched in Xander’s number. The phone
rang 4 times before it was
picked up and a very pissed off Anya grumpily
asked, “WHAT?” The redhead
cocked an eyebrow, she must’ve interrupted
another one of the couple’s
pillow sessions.
“Uh Anya, is Xander there?”
There was a brief silence.
“He’s busy at the moment,
“ was the matter of fact response.
“Oh. Uh huh.”
Another brief silence and
then there was murmuring in the background.
“Willow? ” Anya said into
the phone.
“Hmm.”
“What’d you want?”
“Oh right!” Willow had gotten
lost in one of Gile’s textbooks, that he’d
left around.
“Uh, I’m kinda going out and
I need someone to keep an eye on the idiot.”
The redhead smugly smirked
as she noticed a little sharp movement out of the
corner of her eye from Spike
direction.
“Huh?”
“Spike....the vampire.”
“Oh.”
There was more muttering in
the background. Willow rolled her eyes. This was
taking longer than she thought.
“Anya?”
“Yeah.”
“Bring Xander, you can continue
whatever your doing in the basement. I think
there’s a mattress down there
but if not, just drag one down.”
“Ok.” Was the happy response.
Willow sighed, that was not
one of the best phone conversations in the
world. Especially with Anya.
Then grimaced at what she must’ve interrupted.
Ewwwwww! Scribbling a note,
she left it on the kitchen bench. She turned,
walked out of the apartment,
slamming the front door behind her. Well, now
the idiot could watch Passions
by himself.
With a self satisfied nod,
she marched down the street. Having no idea where
she was going.
